Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church won a 2011 Walton Award, which grants $50,000 to New Church Developments. Chapel in the Pines has 120 members, participates in an ecumenical food pantry, and contributes to Habitat for Humanity. The church already has 12 acres of land and plans to build an environmentally-friendly timber-frame building with the grant money. [PCUSA]
