A week ago, Mayfield Presbyterian Church burned down. This disaster was captured on Twitter as well as the local news, and devastated the congregation who responded by recognizing that the building is not the church. Now they're living that theology out, as they held their planned CROP walk last Sunday - which was attended by Church World Service CEO John McCullaugh. All proceeds, of course, will go to hunger relief efforts, which are an important part of this church's mission. The food pantry has yet to be relocated, but that's in the works as well.
