During its meeting last week, the General Assembly Mission Council heard a report on call trends in the PC(USA). Unsurprisingly for a denomination in numerical decline, opportunities for serving in churches have been steadily decreasing. The number of people seeking a call, however, has been increasing. According to the president of Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, Bill Carl, this has resulted in many graduates seeking new church developments or alternative ministries. [Kruse Kronicle]
