Salt Lake City Church "Not Afraid of Truth"

4/22/11

While a Qur'an-burning church may gain more media and internet attention, one Presbyterian church in Salt Lake City is pushing back against hate in a creative way. The session of Wasatch Presbyterian Church decided that a different kind of witness needed in the face of other Christians who are spreading fear and hatred against Islam. Before they finished their session meeting, they raised $600 and ordered dozens of copies of the Qur'an to place in a local bookstore. The books will be given away for free and contain a bookmark with these words:

This book was donated by the leaders of Wasatch Presbyterian Church, who are not afraid of truth wherever it can be found.
The books will be available early next week at King's English Bookshop in Salt Lake City. [Salt Lake Tribune]
