Each year, the Presbyterian Writers Guild gives out an Angell Award for the best book written by a first-time author. Last year's winner was Louisville Seminary Student Rebecca Barnes-Davies. This year's winner, Rev. Gregory Love, is an Associate Professor of Systematic Theology at San Francisco Seminary. The book, "Love, Violence, and the Cross," discusses a theory of atonement that embrace a non-violent perspective of God. [PCUSA]
