Rev. Ken Rummer, pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Corning, Iowa, has a monk in his congregation. A part-time monk, admittedly, that is on his fourth day of a liquid fast for Lent. J. Wilson, a newspaper editor, has been fascinated with the lives of the monks of the past, and is carefully undergoing a Lenten ritual that spoke to another of his interests: good beer.
